About

Hello. My name is Nate.

I am the Web Mapping Coordinator for the US National Park Service (NPS). Most of my past work has focused on database design, front-end development, and the integration of services on the web, but I’m always taking on new challenges and learning new things.

I am currently working on a large project for the NPS called NPMap. NPMap is a web mapping framework that strives to make it as easy as possible for NPS employees to build and serve web maps to both internal and external users.

This website includes a lot of random material (my earlier posts) and some more up-to-date content about GIS, technology, web mapping, web services, and front-end development. I plan on posting some working demos in the near future, in hopes that the code will help someone out there. If I’m feeling really crazy, I may even post some tools.

If you’d like to contact me, use the contact form. I hope you find something that interests you here.
